The Process

The Investment Banking Academy gives our members the tools they need to be successful in the investment banking recruiting process. Our goal is to help our members secure investment banking internships for the summer of their junior year. Since inception, we strive to maintain our 100% placement rate every year. Learn more about our process and curriculum below.

Teaching the Industry

A key component to succeeding in an investment banking interview is having a strong technical background. IBA has a year-long curriculum that covers Accounting Fundamentals, Valuation Methodologies, Leveraged Buyouts, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Discounted Cash Flow Analysis. Members also learn how to regularly follow markets, pitch a stock, and articulate their knowledge effectively in interviews.

Building Connections

Breaking into the investment banking industry requires creating strong connections that will support members throughout their recruiting processes and into their careers. Current members are connected with recent graduates who provide personalized mentorship and advice. Exclusive networking events further help introduce students to various professionals and firms within the industry.

Traveling to New York City

Each year, The Investment Banking Academy sponsors a trip for its members to go to New York City to meet with firms. This year, IBA had the opportunity to meet with J.P. Morgan, Point72, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, RBC, Jefferies, Moelis, Barclays, Mizuho, Bank of America, The Carlyle Group, Wells Fargo, and Balyasny Asset Management. Through these meetings, as well as other IBA-sponsored events, members are able to further understand the industry and form strong connections.
